Delaney’s entire world is thrown into chaos after she is mistaken for Lissa Olena, an alien princess hiding out on Earth in order to escape an arranged marriage.
Kidnapped by the princess’s head bodyguard, Ruckus, and imprisoned in an alien palace, Delaney is forced to impersonate the princess until Olena can be found. If she fails, it will lead to an alien war and the eventual enslavement of the entire human race.
No pressure or anything.
Factor in Trystan, the princess’s terrifying betrothed who is intent on unraveling all her secrets, and her own growing feelings for Ruckus, and Delaney is in way over her head.
I loved reading about Delaney! Her personality was definitely one of my favorite things about her. She’s fierce, strong and had a lot of badass moments. One thing I liked seeing was that she actually had realistic reactions to some of the things she went through. She put up a strong face but you could after the third assassination attempt on her life that she was going a bit crazy but then again who wouldn’t?
The storyline to me was really engrossing. I finished this book in a day and I couldn’t put it down. The book is pretty fast paced with Delaney being kidnapped in the first chapter but I liked the fact that it picked up pretty fast It had me completely sucked into the book from the beginning.
I lived for the love triangle! I loved Delaney and Ruckus, there so sweet and its obvious that Rokus will do anything to protect her but then there Trystan and I’ll be honest even though he starts off as this big jerk, I still loved him. Ruckus is this adorable sweetheart and Trystan is this dark intriguing guy, who would you pick?
While reading I really enjoyed reading the little details the author included, like the type of food they ate, clothes they wore and even sports they played. I found the extra detail to be very fulfilling.
The only I couldn’t tell was that weather or not aliens were out to the public. In the beginning of the book Delaney’s alien obsessed friend talks about the landing, so I wasn’t sure if they were kept a secret or if people knew about them.
Overall, I rate this book a 5 out of 5. I loved the characters and found the storyline to be so engrossing. It was a little cheesy but I completely adored this book and would recommended it to people. Congratulations to ‘Amid Stars and Darkness’ for being the winner of Out of This World Books! I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, you’ve just been reviewed.
