‘The Lost Hero’ by Rick Riordan

“Jason has a problem.
He doesn’t remember anything before waking up in a bus full of kids on a field trip. Apparently he has a girlfriend named Piper, and a best friend named Leo. They’re all students at a boarding school for “bad kids.” What did Jason do to end up here? And where is here, exactly?

Piper has a secret.
Her father has been missing for three days, ever since she had that terrifying nightmare about his being in trouble. Piper doesn’t understand her dream, or why her boyfriend suddenly doesn’t recognize her. When a freak storm hits during the school trip, unleashing strange creatures and whisking her, Jason, and Leo away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood, she has a feeling she’s going to find out.

Leo has a way with tools.
When he sees his cabin at Camp Half-Blood, filled with power tools and machine parts, he feels right at home. But there’s weird stuff, too—like the curse everyone keeps talking about, and some camper who’s gone missing. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist that each of them—including Leo—is related to a god. Does this have anything to do with Jason’s amnesia, or the fact that Leo keeps seeing ghosts?”

Rose-Worthy Features
I LOVED this book! Everything about it was wonderful. I read the ‘The Lightning Thief’ by Rick Riordan when I was younger but never got around to finishing the whole series and now I look back at myself and question why? If you loved reading ‘The Lighting Thief’ then you will not dought love this book.
The characters were one thing in this book that I probably loved the most. The book switches between Jason, Piper and Leo’s perspective throughout the book and I thought that was really interesting. Jason has no memory of his past life but sometimes will have an instinct on what to do in certain situations. Piper was so sweet and caring, I adored her and Leo was HILARIOUS. There were times where I was reading and I would just die laughing from what he said.
One thing that I loved while reading was that some of the characters from ‘The Lightning Thief’ made an appearance in the book. For some reason, I didn’t expect that but when it happened I was thrilled!
The storyline, like ‘The Lightning Thief’ was really adventurous and action-packed. There were moments where I was gripping my kindle wondering what would happen next.
There was a small romance between Piper and Jason but it’s not exactly dived into as much because Jason doesn’t have any memories of their relationship.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I rate this book a 5 out of 5. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again I LOVED reading this book. I definitely recommend it, even if you don’t like mythology you’ll love this book. It was one big beautiful adventure, that’s for sure. I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, you’ve just been reviewed.
