Description

“Postcard-perfect Jar Island is home to charming tourist shops, pristine beaches, amazing oceanfront homes—and three girls secretly plotting revenge.

KAT is sick and tired of being bullied by her former best friend.

LILLIA has always looked out for her little sister, so when she discovers that one of her guy friends has been secretly hooking up with her, she’s going to put a stop to it.

MARY is perpetually haunted by a traumatic event from years past, and the boy who’s responsible has yet to get what’s coming to him.

None of the girls can act on their revenge fantasies alone without being suspected. But together…anything is possible.

With an alliance in place, there will be no more “I wish I’d said…” or “If I could go back and do things differently…” These girls will show Jar Island that revenge is a dish best enjoyed together.”

Hello everyone and welcome back to The Book Bachelor! If you were looking for a book where a group of teenagers comes together in order to defeat the bullies, then this might be the book for you. RIght up front, I did not like this book. Yeah, a group of girls ends up standing up against the bullies but in return, they end up becoming bullies themselves.

Rose-Worthy Features

If I had to pick a favorite character, it would be Lilia. I found the chapters from her point of view to be the most entertaining. Yeah, she had her moments where I didn’t like her but compared to everyone else she was my favorite.

The ending I have mixed feelings about. I think it ended well and it took me by surprise but I think there could have been so much more. When it ended I still had questions unanswered and things I wanted to see.

Thorny Features

Honestly, I wasn’t a big fan of all the character. Yes, I did kind of like Lilia but if I didn’t have to pick a favorite character I wouldn’t. I thought Kat was a little weird and bit overdramatic. She had some funny moments, but I just wasn’t a big fan of hers. Now Mary was nice and all, but I just couldn’t see how she connected into the story. I felt like she was just kind of there, she had some relations with other characters but not as much as Kat and Lilia did.

Now the plot, I feel like this could have been so much better. The book starts off slowly and you get to know all the characters a little better, but once the girls come up with their plan I found it less interesting. Overall I found myself getting annoyed. The girls knew what they were doing what wrong but they didn’t stop with all their intense pranks.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I rate this book a 3 out of 5. Even though I got annoyed with the characters, I will admit this blot was SO entertaining. I can probably say I’m going to read the second book just because I’m really curious to know what happens next. I still recommend that you read this book because it was interesting. I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, you’ve just been reviewed.
