Anna is dreading another tourist-filled summer on Dune Island that follows the same routine: beach, ice cream, friends, repeat. That is, until she locks eyes with Will, the gorgeous and sweet guy visiting from New York. Soon, her summer is filled with flirtatious fun as Anna falls head over heels in love.

But with every perfect afternoon, sweet kiss, and walk on the beach, Anna can’t ignore that the days are quickly growing shorter, and Will has to leave at the end of August. Anna’s never felt anything like this before, but when forever isn’t even a possibility, one summer doesn’t feel worth the promise of her heart breaking… ”

Rose-Worthy Features

If you’ve been following my blog for long you know I’m a sucker for a cute romance! Even if the book is terrible with a capital T, I can manage as long as there is a strong chemistry between the characters. Straight off the back I wasn’t a big fan of this book, but I will say that the romance between Anna and Will was ADORABLE! If you love a sweet young romance then I think you might enjoy this book.

Thorny Features

Now maybe I’m just being picky but when I read books I like there to be chapters. It not only leaves a good stopping point but it also just makes me feel better that I’m not just pausing at a random point of the book

Now on to the main character Anna. She was fine for most of the book but towards the end she was a little bit of a negative Nancy. She always thought about the bad things that were going to happen with her and Will’s relationship. While Will was happy with just living in the moment, Anna kept overanalyzing things and that got annoying after a while. I just wanted to yell “JUST BE HAPPY”

There wasn’t any real direction going on with the plot. It never really went anywhere. The whole book was just Will and Anna hanging out. Don’t get me wrong, there were cute moments but honestly, I got a little bored after a while.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I rate this book a 3 out of 5. No, this book wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. Out of all the books that I read this summer, this one is probably my least favorite. There were some sweet moments between Will and Anna but the whole book is pretty much just that. It got annoying after a while and that coming from someone who LOVES romance is a little weird. I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, you’ve just been reviewed.
